Our Process

How It Works

From first photo to polished finish.

1

Send Us a Photo

Text, call, or submit online. We look at the stone type and surface condition and tell you what to expect.

2

Surface Assessment

We inspect the damage under professional lighting to determine the right abrasive sequence and finish level.

3

Polish & Restore

Diamond abrasives in progressive grits remove damage layer by layer until the surface is smooth and even.

4

Seal & Protect

Penetrating sealer locks in the restored finish and slows down future damage from water and spills.

Surface Issues We Fix

Each surface problem needs a different approach. Here is how we handle the most common ones.

Marble countertop etch removal before and after

Etching

Dull spots or rings caused by acidic contact. Wine, citrus, vinegar, and many household cleaners react with calcium-based stone within seconds. The surface loses its polish in those spots.

Acid damage removal
Diamond honing and polishing
Finish level restoration (honed, satin, or gloss)
Protective sealing
Hard water spots and mineral deposits on dark stone vanity

Hard Water Deposits

White crusty buildup or haze around faucets, sinks, and anywhere water sits. Las Vegas water is 16+ grains per gallon, some of the hardest in the country. The minerals bond to the stone surface and household cleaners won't remove them.

Penetrating sealer application

Dull/Worn Finish

Countertops that have lost their shine from years of daily use. Wiping on countertops and grit tracked in from outside all wear down the polished surface over time.

Full-surface honing
Progressive diamond polishing
Finish level matching (honed to high gloss)
Sealing for long-term protection
Quartz countertop scuff marks and scratches before and after removal

Scuff Marks

Surface scratches from sliding objects, cutting without a board, dragging appliances, or abrasive cleaners. They show up as fine lines or cloudy patches that catch the light.

Scratch depth assessment
Light honing to remove damage
Polish to match surrounding finish
Sealing the restored area
Stone countertop stain treatment process

Stains

Discoloration that has penetrated below the stone surface. Wine, coffee, oil, rust, and dyes can absorb into unsealed or poorly sealed stone. The stain lives inside the stone, not on top of it.

Stain identification and testing
Poultice extraction treatment
Surface polishing after treatment
Sealing to prevent future staining

Stone Expertise

Stone Types We Polish

Every stone polishes differently. Here is what to know about each one.

Marble countertop polishing process in Las Vegas

Marble

Softer than most countertop stones and reacts to acids quickly. Etching from wine, citrus, and cleaners is the most common issue we see. We restore marble from honed matte to high-gloss mirror finish depending on your preference.

Hard water haze polishing

Honed or gloss finish options
Granite countertop polishing process in Las Vegas

Granite

Harder and more durable, but still develops dull spots from abrasive cleaners and sealer failure over time. Oil stains around cooking areas are common. Polishing granite requires different diamond pads and more pressure than softer stones.

Dull spot polishing
Sealer reapplication

Travertine vanity restoration in Las Vegas

Travertine

Warm and porous with natural holes that collect dirt and bacteria. Hard water and acidic spills are especially damaging. We can fill holes, hone out etching, and polish to whatever finish level you want.

Quartzite waterfall island polishing in Summerlin

Quartzite

One of the hardest natural stones, but it still etches and the sealer breaks down faster in our desert climate. Water spots around the sink are the most common call we get. Polishing quartzite takes specialized equipment because of its density.

High-gloss polish restoration
Specialized equipment for hard stone
Limestone surface before and after polishing restoration

Limestone

The softest and most porous common countertop stone. Reacts to acids even faster than marble and absorbs stains easily. Requires gentle techniques and breathable sealers that won't yellow over time.

Gentle honing for soft stone
Stain poulticing
Breathable sealer application
Etch removal without surface damage
Engineered quartz countertop polishing process

Quartz (Engineered)

Not natural stone, so the polishing process is completely different. Resin-based surface means no diamond polishing. We use compounds designed for manufactured surfaces to restore clarity and remove dull spots, scratches, and heat marks.

Before Your Appointment

What to Expect

Timeline

Most countertop polishing takes 2-4 hours. You can use the surface immediately after.

Prep

Clear items off the countertop. We protect surrounding cabinets and floors.

Dust

Diamond polishing creates fine dust. We contain it with shrouding and vacuum extraction.

Results

We bring your stone back to the finish it was meant to have. The shine, the depth, the feel under your hand.

Honest Assessment

What's Realistic

Daily use, hard water, and spills are going to happen again after we leave. Polishing restores the surface, and sealing slows down future damage, but stone is a natural material that needs maintenance.

We'll tell you how often your specific stone and usage pattern needs professional care. Send us photos and we'll give you a straight answer.

Common Questions

Countertop Polishing FAQ

How often should I get my countertops polished?

We recommend sealing once a year for most stone types in Las Vegas. Our hard water and dry climate break sealers down faster than you'd expect. Polishing frequency depends on wear, but annual sealing keeps your stone protected between professional visits.

What's the difference between honed and polished?

Honed is a matte, smooth finish with no shine. Polished is the glossy, reflective finish most people picture when they think of marble or granite. We can do either, or anything in between. Some homeowners prefer honed because it hides etching better.

Can polishing remove deep scratches?

Polishing removes surface-level scratches by honing down to below the scratch depth. Very deep scratches or gouges may need filling before polishing. We assess the depth during inspection and tell you what to expect.

Is the dust a problem?

Diamond polishing creates fine stone dust. We use shrouding and vacuum extraction to contain it. Your home won't be covered in dust when we leave.

Don't let dull stone stay that way.
