What we restore

Stone types we repair and refinish in Las Vegas

Each stone type has different hardness, porosity, and chemical sensitivity. The repair and refinishing process changes depending on what you have.

Marble countertop polishing in Las Vegas

Marble

Marble etches when it touches wine, lemon juice, or most common cleaning products. It is a soft stone. We see this in Las Vegas kitchens constantly. Our diamond polishing removes the etch marks and restores the finish. We also handle marble repair for chips, cracks, and edge damage.

Hard water deposit removal
Sealing for future protection
Granite countertop restoration in Las Vegas

Granite

Granite is harder than marble, but it still develops problems. Hard water rings near sinks, oil stains around cooking areas, and seal failure from UV exposure near windows are the most common issues in Las Vegas homes. Granite restoration brings back the original color and shine.

Quartzite countertop polishing Las Vegas

Quartzite

Quartzite is popular in newer Las Vegas luxury homes and condos. It is a natural stone, not to be confused with engineered quartz. It can etch from acidic substances and lose its seal over time. Our quartz polishing and quartzite restoration work brings back the deep luster.

Limestone surface restoration Las Vegas

Limestone

Limestone is one of the softest natural stones we work with. Many Rancho Circle and Scotch 80s estates have limestone in their entries and formal rooms. It etches from most cleaners and erodes in traffic areas. We use gentle, pH-neutral methods that clean and restore without further damage.

Travertine pool deck restoration in Las Vegas

Travertine

Travertine pool decks and patios are everywhere in Las Vegas. Pool chemicals bleach the surface, fill material falls out of the natural holes, and the stone develops lippage over time. We refill, hone, polish, and seal travertine for both indoor and outdoor installations.

Terrazzo floor restoration in Las Vegas mid-century home

Terrazzo

Las Vegas has some of the best mid-century terrazzo in the country, especially in Rancho Circle and the Scotch 80s. Most of these floors have been buried under carpet or covered with layers of old wax. We strip the coatings, grind the surface, and polish to reveal the original aggregate.

Local conditions

Why Las Vegas stone needs more care

Las Vegas has some of the hardest water in the country, about 278 parts per million of dissolved calcium and magnesium. That mineral content deposits on every stone surface near water, from kitchen sinks to shower walls to pool decks. It etches marble, clouds granite, and builds up on travertine and limestone faster than most homeowners expect.

The dry desert climate also causes sealers to break down faster than they would in humid climates. UV exposure near windows accelerates this. Most Las Vegas stone surfaces need resealing every 1-2 years, but we see plenty of countertops and floors that have never been sealed at all.

Construction dust from ongoing development is the other common problem. Fine silica particles scratch polished stone, dull finishes, and work their way into pores and grout lines. If your stone looks hazy even after cleaning, embedded dust is usually the reason.

Honest assessment

What stone refinishing can and cannot do

Refinishing removes surface damage: etching, scratches, dullness, stains, and hard water deposits. We can make a worn countertop look close to new and a damaged floor look like it was just installed. That is what refinishing does well.

What it cannot do is change the stone itself. A deep crack will always be there at some level, even after a good repair. A heavily veined marble will still show its natural character. We blend repairs as well as possible, but we will not promise invisible.

We will tell you what is realistic before we start. If a repair is not worth doing, we will say so. Send us photos and we will give you a straight answer.

Common questions

Las Vegas stone repair FAQ

Do you refinish quartz countertops in Las Vegas?

Yes. Quartz is engineered stone, so it handles differently than marble or granite. It can still develop dull spots, light scratches, and surface damage over time. Our quartz polishing process restores the original shine without replacing the countertop.

Can you remove etching and dull spots on marble countertops?

Etching from wine, citrus, and acidic foods is the most common marble problem we see in Las Vegas kitchens. Our diamond polishing removes etch marks and restores the surface to a mirror finish. We seal afterward to slow future damage.

How long does countertop refinishing take?

Most kitchen countertops take 3-5 hours depending on size and condition. Your countertops are ready to use the same day. No waiting for curing or off-gassing.

Can you fix hard water damage on stone showers?

Hard water damage is extremely common here. Las Vegas water runs about 278 parts per million of dissolved minerals. We remove the mineral buildup, hone out the etching, polish the surface, and fix any grout issues. Proper sealing afterward slows future buildup.

What stone types do you work with?

Marble, granite, quartzite, quartz, travertine, limestone, terrazzo, and onyx. Each stone type needs a different approach. Marble is soft and etches easily. Granite is harder but stains if unsealed. Limestone needs gentle, pH-neutral methods. We match the technique to the stone.

Do you offer free assessments in Las Vegas?

Yes. We provide in-home assessments throughout Las Vegas, including Rancho Circle, Scotch 80s, the Strip high-rises, and all surrounding communities. We inspect your stone, explain what is possible, and give you an honest recommendation.
