What we restore

Stone types we repair and refinish in Southwest Las Vegas

Each stone type has different hardness, porosity, and chemical sensitivity. The repair and refinishing process changes depending on what you have.

Marble countertop polishing in Southwest Las Vegas

Marble

Spanish Hills has some of the finest imported marble in the Las Vegas Valley. Southern Highlands golf homes also use marble throughout kitchens and bathrooms. The most common problems are etching from acidic foods and hard water deposits near sinks. Marble countertop restoration removes these marks and brings the surface back to its original finish.

Granite countertop restoration in Southwest Las Vegas

Granite

Granite countertops are installed throughout Southwest Las Vegas. The most common issues are oil stains around cooking areas, seal failure from afternoon UV exposure, and chip damage along edges. The Blue Diamond corridor faces west, so granite near windows takes more UV punishment than in other parts of the valley. Granite countertop repairs restore the surface and address the underlying seal breakdown.

Quartzite countertop polishing Southwest Las Vegas

Quartzite

Quartzite is popular in luxury Southwest Las Vegas homes. Taj Mahal quartzite is one of the most common varieties we work on. It is a natural stone, often confused with engineered quartz. It can etch from acidic substances, lose its seal over time, and develop thermal shock damage from hot pans. Quartzite shares some properties with granite and limestone, requiring specific restoration techniques.

Travertine pool deck restoration in Southwest Las Vegas

Travertine

Travertine is the signature stone of Southwest Las Vegas. Pool decks are everywhere in Southern Highlands, Rhodes Ranch, and Mountain's Edge. Chemical bleaching from pool water, fill loss from the natural holes, and UV damage are the biggest problems. Travertine floor polishing and pool deck restoration are among our most requested services in this area.

Limestone surface restoration Southwest Las Vegas

Limestone

French limestone and Jerusalem limestone are common in Southwest Las Vegas entryways and formal rooms. Limestone is one of the softest natural stones we work with. It is highly sensitive to acid, which means most household cleaners damage it. We use gentle, pH-neutral methods to restore natural stone floors without causing further harm.

Quartz countertop refinishing Southwest Las Vegas

Quartz (Engineered)

Engineered quartz is the most common countertop material in Mountain's Edge and Coronado Ranch. It is durable, but not indestructible. Scratches from daily use, heat damage from hot pans, and dull spots from abrasive cleaners are the usual problems. Quartz countertop refinishing restores the factory finish without replacing the countertop.

Local conditions

Why Southwest Las Vegas stone needs specific care

Southwest Las Vegas faces intense afternoon sun. The Blue Diamond corridor runs east-west, so most homes take direct western UV exposure from midday through sunset. That accelerates seal breakdown on granite, fades marble, and dries out travertine faster than in other parts of the valley. We see more UV-related seal failure here than anywhere else we work.

Spring Mountain wind carries abrasive sand from the desert floor into homes. Fine silica particles scratch polished stone, dull finishes, and work into pores and grout lines. If your countertops or floors look hazy even after cleaning, embedded grit is usually the reason. Regular professional cleaning and resealing is the best defense.

Temperature extremes are the other factor. Summers reach 110 degrees or higher. Winters drop below freezing. Outdoor travertine and limestone expand and contract with those swings, which loosens fill material and opens cracks over time. Pool and outdoor living areas take wear year-round in this climate.

Honest assessment

What stone restoration can and cannot do

Stone restoration removes surface damage: etching, scratches, dullness, stains, and hard water deposits. We can make a worn countertop look close to new and a damaged floor look like it was just installed. Granite refinishers and granite repair specialists use diamond abrasives and calibrated techniques to get consistent results across different stone types.

What it cannot do is change the stone itself. A deep crack will always be there at some level, even after a good repair. A heavily veined marble will still show its natural character. We blend repairs as well as possible, but we will not promise invisible.

We will tell you what is realistic before we start. If a repair is not worth doing, we will say so. Send us photos and we will give you a straight answer.

Common questions

Southwest Las Vegas stone repair FAQ

Do you repair granite countertops in Southwest Las Vegas?

Yes. Granite countertop repairs are one of our most common jobs in Southwest Las Vegas. We fix chips, cracks, stains, and dull spots. The afternoon sun along the Blue Diamond corridor accelerates seal failure on granite, so we see a lot of UV-related damage in this area. We restore the surface and reseal with UV-resistant products.

Can you refinish quartz countertops?

Yes. Quartz countertop refinishing is different from natural stone work because quartz is engineered, not quarried. It still develops scratches, dull spots, and heat damage over time. We use a process designed specifically for engineered quartz to restore the factory finish. This is common in Mountain's Edge and Coronado Ranch homes.

Do you polish and restore travertine floors?

Travertine floor polishing is a big part of what we do in Southwest Las Vegas. Pool decks, patios, entryways, and indoor floors. Pool chemicals bleach the surface, fill material falls out, and lippage develops over time. We refill, hone, polish, and seal travertine for both indoor and outdoor installations.

Can you remove stains from stone countertops?

Yes. We remove stains from marble, granite, quartzite, limestone, and engineered quartz. Oil stains, rust, hard water deposits, and chemical discoloration all respond to different treatments. We identify the stain type first, then apply the right method. Some stains come out in one visit. Deeper stains may need a poultice that sits overnight.

What about marble countertop restoration?

Marble countertop restoration is one of our specialties. Spanish Hills has some of the most impressive imported marble in the valley. Southern Highlands golf homes also use marble extensively. We remove etching, polish out scratches, repair chips, and seal the surface. The goal is to bring the marble back to its original finish.
