Our process

How stone restoration works

From first photo to finished surface.

1

Surface Assessment & Analysis

Our Summerlin technicians thoroughly inspect your stone surfaces: marble counters, quartzite slabs, travertine floors, identifying all damage, staining, and wear patterns. We test for proper sealing and UV damage.

2

Deep Cleaning & Preparation

Professional stone cleaning removes embedded desert dust, hard water deposits, and surface contamination. We use pH-appropriate cleaning products matched to your stone type to prepare surfaces for restoration.

3

Restoration & Polishing

Diamond polishing, honing, or grinding restores your stone surfaces to like-new condition. We repair cracks, remove etching, and eliminate lippage to create smooth, beautiful floor and counter surfaces.

4

Sealing & UV Protection

Premium impregnating sealers with UV resistance penetrate your stone surfaces to provide long-term protection against Summerlin's intense sun, water, oil, and staining, without changing the natural appearance.

The Ridges

The Ridges Quartzite Kitchen Island Restoration

A homeowner in The Ridges had a stunning Taj Mahal quartzite kitchen island that had developed dull spots and light etching from daily use. Despite claims that quartzite is impervious to damage, acidic substances can still affect certain quartzite varieties. We restored the 65 square foot island to a mirror-like finish using our diamond polishing system, then applied a premium impregnating sealer for long-term protection.

Red Rock Country Club

Red Rock Country Club Travertine Pool Deck Revival

This Red Rock Country Club property had an 1,800 square foot tumbled travertine pool deck showing significant sun fading and salt cell damage. The stone had lost its warm color and developed white, chalky patches. We restored the entire deck surface, refilled worn areas, and applied a UV-resistant sealer that brought back the travertine's original warmth while protecting against future chemical damage.

Summit Club

Summit Club Calacatta Marble Floor Polishing

A newly built Summit Club residence had Calacatta Borghini marble floors throughout the main living areas that needed post-construction polishing to remove fine scratches and achieve the designer's vision. We polished approximately 2,500 square feet of marble to a high-gloss finish, carefully blending the dramatic veining across each slab for a seamless appearance.

Local conditions

Why Summerlin stone needs specific care

From the ultra-exclusive Summit Club estates to the guard-gated luxury of The Ridges, Summerlin represents the pinnacle of Las Vegas living. The community's proximity to Red Rock Canyon means homes face unique challenges from UV exposure and desert dust. Our team specializes in maintaining the exotic stone installations that define Summerlin's architectural excellence.

Red Rock Canyon UV Intensity

Summerlin's proximity to Red Rock Canyon means more intense UV exposure than other parts of the Las Vegas Valley. The elevation and western exposure amplify sun damage on outdoor stone surfaces, causing accelerated fading, seal breakdown, and surface deterioration on pool decks, patios, and any stone near west-facing windows.

We apply UV-resistant impregnating sealers specifically designed for Summerlin's extreme sun exposure, and recommend more frequent resealing (every 2-3 years for outdoor surfaces) to maintain protection.

Desert Dust & Sand Abrasion

Red Rock Canyon's desert environment means constant fine dust and sand particles infiltrate Summerlin homes. This abrasive material scratches stone surfaces, dulls polished finishes, and accumulates in travertine pores and grout lines, creating a persistent cleaning challenge for homeowners.

Our professional cleaning removes embedded dust and sand particles, and we apply sealers that make routine cleaning more effective. We recommend entry mats and regular dust mopping to reduce abrasion between professional cleanings.

Temperature Swings & Thermal Stress

Summerlin experiences dramatic daily temperature variations, often 30°F or more that stress outdoor stone surfaces. This thermal expansion and contraction causes grout cracking, lippage development, and seal failure on pool decks, outdoor kitchens, and patio surfaces.

We use flexible sealers designed for thermal movement and provide crack repair services using expansion-friendly materials that accommodate Summerlin's temperature extremes.

Honest assessment

What stone restoration can and cannot do

Stone restoration removes surface damage: etching, scratches, dullness, stains, hard water deposits, and worn sealer. We can make a tired countertop, floor, shower, or pool deck look dramatically better without replacing the stone.

What it cannot do is change the stone itself. Deep cracks, structural movement, and naturally heavy veining may still be visible after repair. We blend repairs as well as possible, but we will not promise invisible when that is not realistic.

We will tell you what is worth doing before we start. Send photos first and we can usually give you a practical read before scheduling.

Common questions

Summerlin stone repair FAQ

Does Summerlin's proximity to Red Rock Canyon affect my stone differently?

Yes, Summerlin sits at the base of Red Rock Canyon and experiences stronger winds carrying fine desert particulates than other parts of the valley. This abrasive dust accelerates surface wear on polished stone, embeds in porous materials like travertine and limestone, and requires more frequent professional cleaning. The western exposure also means more intense afternoon UV that degrades sealers faster.

My Ridges or Summit Club home has imported European stone. Can you work on it?

Absolutely. We frequently restore French limestone, Italian Calacatta and Statuario marble, Spanish Crema Marfil, and other imported European stones in The Ridges and Summit Club. European stones often require different diamond grits, specialized polishing powders, and sealers formulated for their unique compositions compared to domestic materials. Our technicians are experienced with these premium materials.

Why does my Summerlin travertine pool deck fade more than stone in other areas?

Summerlin's elevation and proximity to Red Rock Canyon means more intense UV exposure than central Las Vegas. Additionally, the westward-facing orientation of many Summerlin backyards puts pool decks in direct afternoon sun during peak UV hours. This combination accelerates color fading and sealer breakdown. We recommend UV-resistant sealers and more frequent resealing (every 2 years) for Summerlin pool decks.

Do you work with HOAs in Summerlin communities like Red Rock Country Club?

Yes, we regularly coordinate with Summerlin HOA requirements. Many guard-gated communities have specific vendor approval processes, work hour restrictions, and access protocols. We're familiar with the requirements for Red Rock Country Club, The Ridges, Summit Club, and other Summerlin communities, and handle all coordination so you don't have to.

Can you restore the fireplace stone in my Summerlin home?

Fireplace surrounds are common in Summerlin luxury homes, featuring limestone, marble, and travertine. Smoke staining, heat discoloration, and improper cleaning products can damage these focal points. We restore fireplace stone using specialized techniques that address heat-related damage without risk to the hearth or surrounding materials.
