Luxury Vinyl Plank and LVT Floor Repair in Las Vegas

A gouge from a moved appliance, a plank that lifted, or a spot of water damage does not mean a new floor. We repair small damage in place and replace individual planks when that is the better fix.

About This Service

Luxury vinyl tile (LVT) and luxury vinyl plank (LVP) are made in layers: a backing or core, a printed design layer, and a clear wear layer on top. Light surface scratches in the wear layer can often be blended. Deeper gouges, cuts, and small burns can be filled with color-matched vinyl repair compound so they are much harder to see. When the damage goes through the printed layer, covers a large area, or the plank has swelled from water, the honest fix is to replace that plank. Click-lock floors can often have a single plank swapped out without pulling up the whole room, and glue-down planks can be cut out and replaced. We also reset planks that have lifted, peaked at the seams, or separated, and look for the cause, such as missing expansion gaps or moisture from below. A worn-out wear layer cannot be sanded or refinished like wood or stone. If the whole floor is worn through, we will tell you so.

Job Footage

Recent Commercial LVT Job

A light vinyl plank floor in a Las Vegas commercial building, just inside an entrance that opens onto an asphalt parking lot. In triple-digit heat, grit from the lot tracks straight onto the planks. The crew prepped the floor with orbital and rotary machines and finished it with a protective surface.

  • Asphalt lot outside the entrance

  • Orbital machine preparation

A compact orbital floor machine works across the light plank surface to prepare it.

  • Rotary machine work

A rotary floor machine works the plank floor across the main room.

Signs Your Stone Needs Professional Attention

Visual indicators that indicate it's time for restoration

  • A scratch you can catch with a fingernail
  • A gouge where the print is missing and the core shows
  • Planks that rise at the seam and form a ridge
  • Gaps between plank ends that keep getting wider
  • Soft, raised, or discolored edges near a sink, dishwasher, or toilet
  • A dull worn path in high-traffic areas

Why Vinyl Plank Floors Fail in Las Vegas

Las Vegas conditions create unique challenges for natural stone

  • Strong sun through windows and sliding doors heats vinyl, which expands and can peak or buckle if expansion gaps are too tight
  • Large temperature swings between hot days and cool nights, or when the AC is off in a vacant home, make planks move
  • Desert sand and grit tracked in from outside scratch the wear layer
  • Leaks from water heaters, dishwashers, and supply lines can soak in at seams and damage planks
  • Vinyl is a common choice in rentals, where move-ins and move-outs bring furniture gouges

Our restoration process is specifically designed for Las Vegas conditions, using products and techniques that address these local factors.

What can be repaired and what needs a new plank

Repair in place works for light scratches, small gouges, nicks, and small burns where the damage is limited to a spot. Replacement is the better fix when a gouge goes through the printed design layer over a large area, when the plank has swelled or delaminated from water, when the locking edge is broken, or when a burn is large. A floor where the wear layer is worn through across whole rooms cannot be refinished, because there is nothing to sand back. In that case new flooring is the real answer, and we will say so instead of selling a repair that will not last.

Lifted, peaking, and separated planks

Floating vinyl floors need room to move. When planks are pinned by kitchen islands or heavy cabinets, or installed tight against walls, they can push up at the seams as they expand in the heat. Gaps can open as they contract. Before resetting planks, we check expansion gaps at walls and doorways, look for anything pinning the floor, and check for moisture. Fixing the cause matters as much as fixing the plank.

Why Choose Our LVT & LVP Floor Repair

  • Scratch, gouge, and burn repair with color-matched filler
  • Single plank and tile replacement
  • Lifted, peaking, and separated planks reset
  • Water-damaged planks identified and replaced
  • Cause checked so the problem does not come right back
  • Honest advice when replacement is the better choice
  • Backed by our one-year warranty

Our Process

  1. Vinyl plank floor at a commercial entrance threshold in Las Vegas

    Identify the Floor

We check whether the floor is click-lock or glue-down, rigid core or flexible, and whether you have spare planks from the install.

  2. Asphalt parking lot outside the entrance, where grit tracks onto the vinyl plank floor

    Find the Cause

For lifting, peaking, or swelling, we look for missing expansion gaps, heavy items pinning the floor, or moisture before we repair anything.

  3. Repair or Remove

Small gouges and burns are cleaned out and filled. Planks with damage through the print or with water swelling are removed.

  4. Replace and Reset

Replacement planks are fitted and locked or glued in. Lifted planks are reset and gaps are corrected where possible.

  5. Orbital floor machine cleaning a light vinyl plank floor

    Blend and Clean

Fills are tinted and textured to blend with the grain. We clean the area and give you simple care tips for vinyl floors.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can scratches be removed from luxury vinyl plank?

Light surface scratches can often be blended so they are less visible. Deep scratches and gouges are filled with color-matched vinyl repair compound. Vinyl cannot be sanded or refinished like wood or stone, so if the wear layer is worn through across the floor, replacement is the fix.

Can you replace one damaged vinyl plank?

Usually, yes. On click-lock floors we can often swap a single plank. On glue-down floors we cut out the damaged plank and glue in a new one. Spare planks from your install give the best match.

Why are my vinyl planks lifting or peaking?

Common causes are expansion gaps that are too small, heavy items or cabinets pinning a floating floor, heat from direct sun, or moisture from below. We find the cause before resetting the planks so the problem does not come right back.

Can water-damaged LVP be repaired?

Planks that swelled, delaminated, or lost their locking edge need to be replaced. The leak has to be fixed first. We replace the damaged planks once the area is dry.

What if I do not have spare planks?

We can try to source the same product. If it is discontinued, one option is to borrow planks from a closet or under an appliance and put the closest match in that hidden spot. We will talk through the options with you.

Do you do LVP repair near me?

We work in Las Vegas, Henderson, Summerlin, North Las Vegas, and surrounding areas. Call (702) 605-6528 or text photos of the damage for an honest assessment.

How much does LVP floor repair cost?

Our minimum visit is $700, and most jobs come in around $1,200. The exact price depends on how many planks need repair or replacement. Estimates are always free.

Is your work guaranteed?

Yes. All of our work is backed by a one-year warranty.
