About This Service
Flagstone patios, walls, and steps take a lot of abuse in Southern Nevada. Sun and heat fade the color. Mortar joints crack and fall out as the slab and stone expand and contract. Water gets under loose stones and they start to rock or lift. Hard water from sprinklers and pools leaves white scale, and minerals inside the stone can rise to the surface as efflorescence. Flagstone restoration starts with a thorough cleaning to remove dirt, scale, and old failing sealer. Then we grind out cracked or hollow mortar joints and repoint them with fresh mortar, reset loose or rocking stones in a new bed, and replace broken pieces when matching stone is available. Last, we seal the flagstone with a breathable impregnating sealer, or a color-enhancing sealer if you want the stone to look richer and darker. The goal is a patio or wall that is solid, clean, and protected.
