"I wish I had called Expert Stone Repair the day we moved in. Our granite countertops were constantly getting rings and moisture marks, and we tried different sealants to fix it ourselves. Nothing worked. They came, explained what was going on, then professionally cleaned and polished the granite, bringing it back to life. Now our countertops look incredible, the finish is consistent, and the problem areas are gone."

"Great company! Came out initially to provide a quote for 4 kitchen countertops, 5 bathroom countertops, and 2 laundry countertops. We were thinking of replacing all the countertops, however we were looking at 50K to 60K and weeks in disarray during construction. Expert Stone Repair made all of them look like new. My wife and I are extremely happy with the work that was done as well as the finishes. Highly recommended."
Our Process
From photos to a clean, polished, sealed granite surface.
Text wide shots and close-ups of dull spots, sink areas, stains, scratches, or outdoor granite. We look for finish loss, mineral buildup, sealer failure, and repair needs.
We remove grit, oils, residue, and hard water buildup so polishing does not drag debris across the stone.
Granite polishing uses the right pads and compounds for dense stone. We restore clarity and even reflection without changing the shape of the slab.
We apply penetrating sealer when appropriate, check the finish under light, and explain simple care for Las Vegas hard water.

Where We Polish Granite
Countertops, vanities, islands, outdoor kitchens, and detail areas all wear differently. The process changes with the surface.
Busy kitchens lose shine around sinks, prep areas, cooktops, and islands. Granite polishing evens out the finish so the whole counter reads clean again.
Vanities take constant hard water, soap, cosmetics, and toothpaste residue. We remove buildup and polish the surface back to a consistent sheen.
Outdoor granite faces UV, heat, irrigation, grease, dust, and pool splash. Polishing and sealing can bring back depth without replacing the counter.
Edges and corners catch wear first. We polish detail areas and address chips or small repairs when the stone needs more than surface shine.
Common Problems
Most granite calls are not about one issue. They usually involve dullness, hard water, residue, stains, or a worn sealer.
Granite can look clean but still lack depth. Mechanical polishing restores the reflective finish that daily wiping cannot bring back.
White haze and rings near faucets are common in Las Vegas. We remove mineral buildup and polish the affected area so it blends again.
Failed sealer, wax, and cleaning residue can leave granite cloudy or streaky. The surface has to be corrected before a new sealer goes down.
Oil, food, and moisture can soak into under-sealed granite. Stains are treated first, then polishing brings the finish back.
Why It Matters
On one dark granite job, the gloss meter moved from 82 before polishing to 115 after polishing. We use that kind of visual proof because shine should be measurable, not just promised.
Granite is dense and unforgiving. The pads, compounds, machine speed, pressure, and final sealer choice need to match the slab and the finish goal.
Polishing improves shine and clarity. Deep stains, cracks, chips, and failed coatings may need stain treatment, repair, or stripping before the final polish.
Las Vegas Conditions
Las Vegas hard water leaves minerals around sinks, faucets, vanities, and outdoor counters. Desert dust acts like a fine abrasive. Outdoor kitchens get sun, heat, pool splash, grease, and cleaning residue. All of that can make granite look flat even when it is technically clean.
Granite polishing handles the finish. Sealing handles absorption. Repair handles cracks, chips, and seams. We separate those steps so you know what the stone actually needs.

Before Your Appointment
Small counters can often be done in a few hours. Larger kitchens, islands, stains, or outdoor granite may need more time.
Clear counters if possible. We protect nearby cabinets, floors, sinks, appliances, and walls before polishing.
Most counters can be used the same day. If sealer is applied, we explain the cure window before heavy use.
Use pH-neutral stone cleaner, avoid abrasive pads, and wipe hard water from sink areas before minerals build up.

Common Questions
Yes. Most dull granite can be cleaned, mechanically polished, and sealed so the stone has better depth, clarity, and reflection. We inspect the surface first because heavy scratches, stains, failed coatings, or chips may need extra work before polishing.
Yes. Granite is harder and denser than marble. It needs different abrasives, compounds, pressure, and dwell time. We adjust the process to the granite type, finish level, and whether the surface is a countertop, vanity, floor, or outdoor BBQ counter.
Usually, yes. Las Vegas hard water leaves mineral deposits around sinks, faucets, vanities, and outdoor counters. We remove the buildup, polish the affected stone, and seal it so routine cleaning is easier.
Polishing alone does not pull deep oil out of the stone. If oil has soaked in, we treat the stain first with the right extraction process, then polish and seal after the stone is ready.
Usually, yes. Polishing can expose fresh stone and old sealer may already be failing. We use a penetrating sealer matched to the granite so water and oils have less time to soak in.
Many granite countertop jobs take a few hours. Larger kitchens, islands, heavy hard water, outdoor counters, stain treatment, or repair work can take longer. Send photos and we can give you a practical read before scheduling.
