We confirm whether it is etching, staining, or chip damage, then test a small area so you see the result first.

3

Hone & Polish

Diamond abrasives remove the etched layer and chips are filled, then we polish to your preferred finish.

4

Seal & Walk-Through

We apply a penetrating sealer, walk you through the results, and leave a simple care plan.

What we fix

Each problem needs a different approach. Here is what we see most often on marble counters.

Etch marks removed from a marble countertop, before and after

Etch Marks

White rings from glasses, dull halos near the sink, hazy patches where something acidic sat. Wine, citrus, and coffee all etch marble on contact. We hone the damage out and polish the surface smooth again.

Chips & Edge Damage

Dropped pans and daily use chip marble edges, especially around sinks and corners. We fill the damage with color-matched epoxy and polish it flush so the repair blends in.

Hard Water Haze

Las Vegas hard water leaves mineral deposits around faucets and sinks that slowly etch the marble. Scrubbing does not help because the damage is in the surface. We remove the deposits and refinish the stone underneath.

Dull Spots & Stains

Cleaning products and absorbed spills leave marble looking flat and patchy. We draw out what we can, then hone and polish to bring back a consistent depth across the whole surface.

Why marble counters etch in Las Vegas

Marble reacts to acids

Wine, citrus, coffee, and vinegar etch marble on contact. The dull rings they leave are surface damage, not stains, which is why wiping never fixes them.

Hard water around the sink

Las Vegas water is among the hardest in the country. It leaves mineral deposits around faucets and sinks that slowly etch and haze the marble.

Acidic cleaners make it worse

Many products, including some labeled marble safe, are acidic. They keep etching the surface a little more every time they are used.

Honest assessment

What's realistic

Most etching, haze, and dull spots come out completely. Chips and cracks fill and polish flush, though a color-matched repair stays slightly visible up close on solid-color stone.

We test a spot first so you see the result before we commit to the whole counter. Marble is meant to be used, and with the right care it stays beautiful between visits.

Common questions

Marble countertop repair FAQ

What causes the white rings on my marble?

Those are etch marks, not stains. When acidic liquids like wine, citrus, or vinegar touch marble, they eat into the surface and leave a dull spot. Etching is surface damage, not something sitting on top.

Can you fix deep etching?

Yes. Deep etching takes more honing to reach undamaged stone. We assess the depth on-site and explain what is involved. Most countertop etching comes out fully.

Can you repair a chip or crack in my marble counter?

Usually, yes. We fill chips and cracks with color-matched stone epoxy, then polish the repair flush with the surrounding surface. Deep structural cracks are the exception, and we will tell you honestly on-site.

How long does restoration take?

Most marble countertop jobs finish in 2 to 4 hours. You can use the counter the same day, with no curing or off-gassing wait.

Will sealing prevent etching?

Sealing slows acid penetration and buys you time to wipe spills, but it does not fully prevent etching. Quick cleanup is still the best protection for marble.
